Jaguar I-Pace – Highlight At The Geneva Motorshow

Geneva, March 06. 2018 – Journalists and media representatives from all over the world traveled to Geneva. At around 11:00, the Jaguar Land Rover booth fills up slowly and just before the press conference starts, it’s almost impossible to find a place. There is a reason: Jaguar presents the Jaguar I-Pace, the British manufacturer’s first full-electric SUV, a serious competitor to the Tesla – but more to come next time.

The brand-new Jaguar I-Pace

Car enthusiasts eagerly awaited the new Jaguar I-Pace. It’s not only emission-free, intelligent and safe, but combines sustainable sports car performance with the practicality of a five-seater SUV. So, let’s answer the most popular questions so far. jaguar electric car

Jaguar I-Pace Range

The range is as prominent with electric cars as the consumption of a petrol engine. The state-of-the-art 90kW lithium-ion battery with 432 pouch cells – chosen for its high energy density and superior heat-sinking properties – gives the new I-Pace a range of 480 kilometers * (in the new WLTP cycle). Owners will be able to recharge the battery from zero to 80 percent in 40 minutes on a 100 kW DC fast charging station; If you only have 15 minutes, you can “refuel” in the same way 100 kilometers. jaguar i-pace

How much space is available?

The spacious interior of the Jaguar I-Pace offers plenty of leg room in the back seat and comes up with intelligent shelves. Without a cardan tunnel, there is room for a 10.5-liter storage compartment in the center console, for storing mobile phones, keys or other small items. Compartments hidden under the rear seats are designed to fit tablets and laptops. The trunk volume of 656 liters surpasses that of most midsize SUVs; by moving the back seat, it can be extended to up to 1,453 liters. Despite the sloping roof line with 968 mm there is still enough headroom for the rear passengers. jaguar i-pace interior

What about the performance?

With its four-wheel drive, 294 kW (400 hp) and 696 Nm of maximum torque, the cat delivers an electrifying performance in the truest sense. The fully retrievable power lets the performance SUV sprint from 0 to 100 km / h in just 4.8 seconds.

What about the design?

The elegant and elongated silhouette with short and flat hood, aerodynamically shaped roof contour and curved rear window reveals immediately: The Jaguar DNA is recognizable, a truly harmonious and sporty SUV.

I wanna have it! But how much is it?

In Germany prices start from € 77.850, in Switzerland at 82’800 CHF.

Breitling goes vintage – Interview with Guy Bove

Zürich, 15.02.2018 – I’m invited to join a roadshow at Zürich Hallenstadion, hosted by Breitling. The brand is worldwide known especially for the famous Navitimer – the invention of the chronograph watch as we know it today. Before the roadshow starts, I will have the honour to interview Guy Bove.

About Guy Bove

Guy completed his degree in Product Design at the Art Center College of Design and looks back to almost 20 years of experience within the watch industry. In 2017, Guy Bove was named Creative Director at Breitling and his first challenge was to design the Navitimer 8, the brand’s newest family of pilots’ watches.

Guy, Breitling presents a new collection today – what is it about?

Actually, we’re reminding people where Breitling came from. It’s the celebration of the early tool watches, chronographs and other elegant time pieces – we’re taking people back to this time.

There will be a new Navitimer, right?

Indeed, we’re presenting the Navitimer 8. Conversely, what we presented in the past, the famous Navitimer will now be a range of watches, all focused on classical pilot watches like we made from 30ties to the 70ties.

The Navitimer 8 is a hommage to the first pilot’s watches we made, inspired by the dashboard clocks.

What type of style would you relate it to?

It’s a mixture of sportiness and elegance. Imagine a stylish pilot, similar to the movie ‘The Aviator’, with leather jackets and flight goggles.

Would you say, ‘Breitling goes vintage’?

There is a vintage influence yes. We’re proud of our history, and we thought it should be explained and shown. We want to tell this  story, so the legacy lives on.

I notice, you’re not wearing a watch! Any reason for that?

A very popular question. At one time, I took it off because it influences my way of seeing watches and creating new ideas.

Breitling is well-known for men’s watches. What about women?

Well, there are a couple female celebrities all over the world wearing our watches. Later this year, we will be presenting a new line specifically made for women.

Last but not least: describe a perfect gentleman

(Thinks a long time) A gentleman is someone who understands and respects people. A person who makes other people feel better.

What is a bootcamp?

Another trend from the US arrived in Switzerland. Originally bootcamps were developed for the basic training of the US armed forces, i.e. to keep the troops fit. Accordingly, there are a few characteristics of a well implemented bootcamp:

  • A bootcamp usually takes place outside
  • All year round and in all weathers
  • It is led by a coach
  • Training takes place in groups, you mainly work with your own body weight
  • It combines fun and hard work

For whom are bootcamps suitable?

Basically for everyone who likes to workout. However, the bootcamps in Zurich are ideal for busy people – they take place at 06:00 in the morning or at lunchtime. So what’s your excuse? Surely bootcamps are to be classified as rather tough – so, it’s important to have fun!

How does a bootcamp work?

It has a lot in common with freeletics since you mainly train with your own body weight. Else, it’s very similar to most sports:

  • Warm up
  • Endurance & Strength Exercises
  • Cool down & stretching

What are typical exercises in such a workout?

Similar to Freeletics, the Bootcamps in Zurich are focussed to work with one’s own body weight, of course trainings such as rope jumping, boxing or kettlebells are also offered. The respective exercises are integrated into a kind run, which includes short breathing breaks.

  • squats
  • burpees
  • push-ups
  • Mountain climbers
  • Jump squats
  • sit-ups
  • lounges
  • high knees
  • dips
