With the Glenfiddich Grand Cru, the traditional Scottish company is breaking new ground. This 23-year-old single malt Scotch whisky spent a second maturation phase in French cuvée barrels, which gives it an additional freshness and balance.

Golf clothing – our favourites from Falke
Falke – tradition and quality
We teamed up with Falke for many reasons, the Sauerland-based company looks back on over 120 years of history and produces top-quality clothing. It all began with the production of fine hosiery, although Falke now produces far more than stockings. Through old traditions, refinement of the materials and the incessant pursuit of quality, the company is one of our absolute favourites when it comes to sports and golf clothing.Golf clothing – our favourites for the season
Those who like to dress well in their leisure time will certainly want to cut a good figure on the golf course as well. A combination of sportiness, simple elegance and stylish functionality. Golf clothing should therefore look good and above all resist any sort of weather. We have chosen a few outfits that can be worn on the golf course as well as for other occasions.1 The heritage look for spring / autumn
The name came to our mind spontaneously, because part of Falke’s current collection reminds us a bit of the 1930s. You definitely don’t see this silk/linen mix of the shirt every day. The material is moisture-regulating and dries very quickly. The trousers are made of natural fibres and high-quality polyamide, which makes them light, breathable and water-repellent. We particularly like: an integrated ball cleaning cloth. In cool temperatures, this look can also be enhanced with a functional jacket. The model shown is made of the highest quality Merino material by Loro Piana and protects against rain and wind.2. The sporty look for summer
Those who plan their golf trips around the globe from time to time, will often play at over 30 degrees. For such temperatures, two things are particularly important: solid moisture transport and a lightweight, breathable material. No annoying side seams or logos are used, which offers optimum wearing comfort. With this look you will quickly notice: If you like golf clothing that is eye-catching and colourful, you’ve come to the right place.Golf in Valais – Crans Montana and the surrounding golf courses
At 1500m lies one of the largest holiday destinations in the Valais: Crans Montana. The idyllic mountain village is situated on a sunny plateau, offers a wide range of activities and is the most popular destination for golf in the Valais. The Swiss village has been attracting international guests for years, especially during the OMEGA European Masters at the end of August.
Golf in Valais – Crans Montana and the surrounding golf courses
No question, Crans Montana is the Swiss hotspot in golf and offers everything your heart desires. This summer we had the opportunity to relax for a few days and play the surrounding courses. If you are looking for a few rounds of golf, mountain lakes, fresh air, forests, endless hiking trails or a cosy fondue evening, Crans Montana is the place you want to visit.
The Hotel Crans Ambassador
We were accommodated in the Hotel Crans Ambassador, which is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful hotels in Switzerland. It is so harmonious because of the attention paid to the smallest detail: a sophisticated alpine chic architecture with glass front and view to the mountains, countless fireplaces and the use of materials such as wood or natural stone make this place a unique experience.
The 5-star hotel has 56 elegantly furnished rooms and suites, a terrace with a magnificent view, a barbecue restaurant, fondue and raclette bars, a 1300 m2 wellness area and everything else your heart desires.
We were very satisfied here and look forward to seeing you again soon!

The most beautiful and most famous course in Switzerland, because this is where the largest and most famous golf tournament in Switzerland takes place every year: the OMEGA European Masters. It is the day on which some of the best golf professionals in the world (Sergio Garcia, Rory McIlroy or Tommy Fleetwood) travel to Valais to compete on this course. The course is in excellent condition, although there is snow for almost half a year.

Golf course Leuk
The 18-hole course in Leuk was designed by a Scottish architect and is modelled in the style of a classic “links golf course” – which can also be found in Scotland. You will find clay soils, wavy fairways, sand bunkers and some rough.
Comment: a new club house is being built at the moment, there is a construction site at the entrance. The course was not in its best condition.

Insider tip – Golf de Noas
On the way to Crans Montana, this small 9-hole course turns out to be a great insider tip. We discovered Golf de Noas while driving past and were thrilled by the course. At first sight it is rather a pitch and putt course, although the 6 iron can be used quietly. The course is certainly not very easy to play, very well maintained and in astonishingly good condition – the view is also impressive
Input: you are allowed to play here without a licence to play.

Golf course Verbier
This 18-hole golf course was built at an altitude of about 1600 meters, so you have a magnificent view of the mountains. The course is not in best conditions, which is probably due to the fact that it snowed until May this season.
Comment: there are some altitude meters and distances to be done, depending on fitness a buggy is recommended.

Review of the new Huawei 5G smartphone
The Chinese technology company presents its latest product – the Huawei 5G smartphone (Mate 20 X 5G) which is equipped for the latest mobile phone standard. Does it fundamentally change everything? We tested it for two weeks and provide a conclusion in our review.

What is 5G?
What is almost everyday in the Chinese cities is now expanding in Europe: a new mobile communications standard called «5G». Simply explained, it is the successor of 3G and 4G, so you benefit from faster Internet. In addition, 5G allows users with the Huawei 5G smartphone to download movies in a few seconds or stream games and videos in 4K or 8K resolution. In short, these are some of the advantages:
If you take a closer look at 5G, it should bring further advantages in the near future – especially with a focus on the progress of AI – as these require higher bandwidths:

Review of the new Huawei 5G smartphone
With the P20 Pro & Mate 20 Pro we had partly up to 1 1/2 days battery. 5G obviously needs a bit more power, which should be the reason that the battery of the Mate 20 X 5G lasts about 1 day (compared to the competitors, this is still a top runtime). The Huawei 5G smartphone is charged within a few minutes thanks to super charging. is now available on the market and offers the possibility to use the 5G mobile standard. We have been testing it for two weeks.
The design
The design has been practically taken over 1:1 from the Huawei Mate 20 pro – with the exception that the Mate 20 X 5G contains a huge 7.2 inch OLED display. So you can casually watch your favourite Netflix series on the go – thanks to 5G without unwanted interruptions.
Usability
Thanks to a lightning-fast processor, no second is waited here. The size of the Mate 20 X 5G takes a bit time to get used to, certainly within two weeks it feels totally normal.
Sharp images thanks Leica’s 40 megapixel camera
The 40 MP camera was developed by Leica and also features an 8 MP telephoto lens and a 20 MP wide-angle lens. This makes the Huawei 5G smartphone camera perfect for landscape, group and macro photography. The night mode is also impressive, allowing great pictures to be taken even later in the evening. A few examples can be found in our Hong Kong report.
What about the battery?
The battery of the P20 Pro & Mate 20 was pretty amazing, it lastet about 1 1/2 days. 5G obviously needs a bit more power, which should be the reason that the battery of the Mate 20 X 5G lasts about 1 day (compared to the competitors, this is still a top runtime). The Huawei 5G smartphone is charged within a few minutes thanks to super charging.
What is the price difference?
Digitec offers the Huawei 5G smartphone for CHF 999.00. With Sunrise, the 5G subscription costs CHF 10.00 more per month.
Conclusion 5G / Huawei Mate 20 X 5G
We continue to develop and the technological progress of recent years is immense. The topic of AI will be continuously improved and now also supports medical areas. Such a technology requires the mobile standard 5G. It is certainly also important that we look at topics such as radiation and health risks, analyse and evaluate them and, if necessary, define the best possible actions.
The 5G phone from Huawei is technically very successful and convinces with a great camera, solid battery, integrated AI and thanks to 5G super fast Internet.
